Oh, you’re saying words aren’t super helpful and you need some video tutorials? Yeah, yeah-I get it. Continue on with your usual curl routine, whether that’s applying your other styling products (pro tip: squishing your products in with your hair still upside down is a great way to encourage curl formation in looser curl types) or going straight to plopping and air-drying or diffusing. The goal here is to slowly water down the conditioner while simultaneously smushing the water-conditioner mixture into your hair cuticle. Repeat this step again and again, cupping the water and squishing it into your hair section by section, until eventually, the conditioner is rinsed out.You should hear some loud and clear “squelching” noises. Collect water in the palms of your hands, then squish the water into your hair.Next is where the actual squish to condish part comes in. Flip your head upside down (stay out of the stream of water-we need to keep that conditioner intact!).If your hair doesn’t feel seaweed-y anymore, add some more conditioner. Use your fingers to gently detangle your hair. You’ll know you’ve added enough conditioner when your hair feels slippery like seaweed. Rake and smush the conditioner through your wet hair, focusing on the ends, until your hair is fully saturated and coated with conditioner. ![]()
